The viscosimeter consists of a metal tube, in which the liquid under inspection is filled. Both sides of the tube get closed with transparent disks. Inside the tube a ball "falls" through the liquid upon inverting. The falling-time of the ball stands in direct relation to the viscosity of the liquid.

You read the actual temperature from the built-in thermometer, take the average falling time and calculate the viscosity at actual temperature according to the provided formular.

Total measuring range is covered by employing 3 different balls. Based on the falling time of one minute, measuring range for each balls divides in:

• standard ball 16.20 mm) up to 60 cSt (1 = 1.0 cSt)
• complementary ball (15.87 mm) up to 270 cSt (1 = 4.5 cSt)
• complementary ball (14.29 mm) up to 4.000 cSt (1 = 65.0 cSt)

This corresponding falling time is based on a density of 0,9875 kg/l and is applicable with common accuracy for fluids having a viscosity of more than 10 cSt at current measuring temperature. For different densities, please use the provided form.
