The condition of engine lube oil can be accurately assessed directly on-site with the help of the portable test kit LUBE OIL CHECK 5. By regularly measuring the content of water in oil, alkalinity reserve (BN, formerly TBN), oil viscosity, salt water and soot contamination, a trend in oil condition can be observed. This provides a possibility of a practice of condition maintenance of the engine system components thereby reducing costs and prolonging operation time.
