This year a special focus will be given to routine engine coolant analysis and Martechnic’s latest technological development - the patent pending test device MT COOLANT CHECK. An innovative measurement method developed by Martechnic offers a completely different, non-chemical and environmentally friendly approach to regular on-site assessment of the engine coolant quality in the global shipping sector and beyond. In comparison to the existing methods that require a series of complex physical and/ or chemical measurement of individual parameters (pH, chlorides, nitrite additives etc.), the MT COOLANT CHECK aims at analyzing the gradual deterioration in anti-corrosion performance of the engine coolant before the analyses of the chemical composition and physical properties allow any conclusions to be drawn. Thereby, the impact on the metals used in the cooling system as well as the various anti-corrosion effects of the engine coolant are assessed.
